Building Blocks

Building Blocks is part2 of the trio Connected. Following the first three layers of brown, turquois, yellow, alcohol and plastic to create some texture, I used Vaseline as a masking method. Some of this history is still visible in the middle circle and in the lower corners.

I learn to destroy something to create something new. More layers of collages, stenciling, and mark making followed. Near completion a neutral color at midpoint calmed the artwork. This conveys simple but deep emotions.
