Sideways is part1 of the trio Laced. I scraped a thick layer of mixed turquois, yellow and nickel azo gold sideways on a golden acrylic background, creating splendid textures. Applying black ink intuitively through a syringe completes the scene.

A strong zig-zag black pattern across the scene keeps your eyes moving. Horizontal cooler hues may mirror a river in flood. Light yellow patches imitate sunlight playing on water. Vertical color and black fine lines balance the larger color shapes.
