Bridges and running water with some reflections in the water still fascinate me. The main topic for an art exhibition (in my hometown Bloemfontein 2010), was bridges of Venice. During a conversation with a viewer at that time, I recognize the wish to use Bridges as the intent for a series as a theme. Twelve years later, (August 2022) it unexpectedly dawned on me that the intent and content of new series will be BRIDGES.

It was further emphasized (September 2022) by Renee Phillips the founder and curator of The Healing Power of Art and Artists. She chose Perseverence (SKU 4524) from my website for an online exhibition. (click here)

The word bridge has many nuances. Several different meanings of bridges as a noun, or as a verb, refers to a link between two points. Just to name a few: the bridge of a nose/ a foot/or teeth, finance bridging, an air bridge, bridges to connect two continents. Is the implication of the word bridge physical or emotional, a fantasy or a reality?
